MEET THE ARTIST
“It took me a long time to realise that painting isn't really about making pictures.
The more I painted, the more it became a place where I could slow down and be myself. Away from comparison, expectation and all the things I thought I should be doing. And that mattered because I'd spent much of my life doing what other people expected of me.
Painting was different. It didn't ask me to be anything I wasn't.
Then I started noticing something in the people who connected with my work. They weren't telling me it was a pretty picture. They were feeling something more.
It could be a memory of a person they'd loved, a place they'd been, or somewhere they could only travel to in their imagination. Their connection wasn't about my story anymore. It was about theirs.
And that's when I realised I wasn't really painting pictures. I was painting feelings.
They didn't need me to tell them what to see or how to feel. They were bringing themselves to the painting. Their memories. Their feelings. Their own way of seeing things.
So my art leaves room for your story. There's no right thing for you to see and no right way for you to feel.
That's why my work doesn't belong to one style. Sometimes a feeling becomes a landscape. Sometimes it finds its way into an animal. Sometimes it can only be expressed through abstraction.
The feeling comes first.
And that's really why I paint.
To create space for you to be truly you.
